Participatory Mechanisms

There are many different participatory mechanisms that contribute towards the fashion marketing community. This can include major events, databases, and communities. 

 

The Met Gala

The Met Gala is a high-profile annual fundraising event for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute. It is an annual celebration of fashion, with many celebrities and designer sharing their pieces and expressing their love for clothes. There is a new theme each year, representing the gala and its entirety.

Elle Magazine

Within the field of fashion marketing, databases and major magazines such as Elle, Vogue, and Cosmopolitan are very prominent in distributing fashion information. Elle magazine is a worldwide women's magazine that shares culture, trends, society, and lifestyle about the fashion industry. Many publishers and journalists share their research and report their opinions about the fashion world. These magazines also include aspects of advertisements, photography, and issues surrounding the world.

The CFDA

Many journal articles, such as the Council of Fashion Designers in America, are very important in sharing information about fashion. They are a "not-for-profit trade association whose membership consists of more than 500 of America’s foremost womenswear, menswear, jewelry and accessory designers."
